  • Why does a renovation project cost so much?

    That’s the assumption and depends on the type of project scope and contractor. If you are looking to have all the bells and whistles with new trend and updates, it’s going to cost you. Also it depends on what type of contractor are you trying to hire. If you are hiring retail contractor who does one or two projects at a time, he is going to make money out of your project as much as possible. If you work with contractor who has wholesale pricing because he works on multiple projects, your pricing would be lower and quality product.

  • What is the timeline for the project?

    It depends on the project scope. If it’s updating a bathroom, it would take may be a week or so. If it’s changing tile all around house and painting full house, its expected to take 2-3 weeks. It all varies and depends on the permit requirement etc.,

  • What is the total budget for construction?

    Again, that’s generic question. If you ask specific to scope of work like “What would be budget to update 2nd bathroom?”. We would say it would be starting from $3000 and upwards depending on the type of updates. Everything has base number which we figured working on various rehab and flip projects. Project cost goes up from base number depending on product requirement and extra labor needed.

  • How is renovation project initiated?

    That’s great question. It usually initiated by asking quotes from various contractors and choosing the right contractor which suits your project scope, pricing and approach. Do not just choose just because of the price. If the contractor is willing to reduce the price to compete with others, then he might have to cut cost somewhere else. Do not tell your budget which is usual question from the contractors. Let the contractor share their price for the scope.
